Who We Are

Message from the Top Management

Message from the Top Management

As an industry leader in fruit and vegetable distribution, the Group will work as one to “realize a society where no one is left behind.”

President and Representative Director

Almost 2 years have passed since the worldwide spread of COVID-19.
Our deepest sympathies go to those affected by the pandemic.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the front-line healthcare workers, welfare organizations, and all other groups and individuals who have extended helping hands.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a drastic change in people’s lifestyles and brought a significant turning point to our company’s business. Moreover, in their corporate activities, companies are required to solve issues from a medium- to long-term perspective to help build a sustainable society, including contributing to the achievement of the SDGs and promoting diversity. To respond promptly and sincerely to these changes, we formulated “Transformation 2024”, our fourth medium-term management plan, in May 2021.

“Transformation 2024” has three basic policies: transformation of our business portfolio, the establishment of a fruit and vegetable distribution infrastructure, and the promotion of sustainable management. With this plan, the Delica Foods Group will transform into a corporate group that adapts to the new era.

Moreover, as an industry leader, the Group will work as one to “realize a society where no one is left behind,” as our business is very closely related to the SDGs.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the stakeholders who support our corporate group. Their continued support and encouragement are highly appreciated.

Management Philosophy (A Company is a Dojo)

Aspirations are the most wonderful gifts, equally apportioned to all.
If you have lofty aspirations and treat others with love, honesty and sincerity, you will grow into a highly virtuous person.

Virtue transcends human knowledge, embraces everything, and is accepted by everything.

Virtue is an great and eternal treasure given to humans.

Virtue grows in a sound body. Wisdom is a source of creation, but wisdom alone does not influence people.

“More important things than wisdom is a sound body. More important things than a sound body is virtue."
Delica's management philosophy is to improve oneself with wisdom supported by a sound body and to accumulate virtuous deeds.

About Us

What is the Delica Foods Group?

The Delica Foods Group is a creative corporate group that connects agriculture to good health.
Through the distribution of agricultural produce, which is a bounty of Nature, the Group contributes to agricultural development and a healthier life.

In Japan, which belongs to the temperate zone, seasonal changes are beautiful, and a wide variety of vegetables grow in each of the four seasons.
In this blessed environment, since ancient times, Japanese people have savored seasonal foods to enjoy a sense of the season as an everyday pleasure.
Delica Foods delivers delicious, fresh-from-the-farm vegetables grown with the blessings of Nature-sunshine, soil, water and air.
To that end, Delica Foods sends out safe and reliable vegetables mainly to restaurants and home meal replacement industry across Japan, as a commercial-use fruit and vegetable distributor taking both the farmer’s and the scientific perspectives.

From the farmer’s perspective, Delica Foods works with producers to grow delicious and nutrient-dense vegetables, until we receive them from the growing district.
Then, from the scientific perspective, Delica Foods stores, processes, and packs the vegetables and delivers them to customers with utmost attention to freshness and swiftness. Making use of its accumulated analytical data on vegetables, Delica Foods also recommends ways to enjoy vegetables, develops recipes, and holds seminars.

The Delica Foods Group will continue to contribute to people’s health through the distribution of fruits and vegetables, a bounty of Nature.

Fresh and Speedy
We ensure stable delivery of fresh fruits and vegetables from our bases around Japan.

We at Delica Foods build a stable procurement network with contract farms around the country. We also procure produce from the market and deliver delicious seasonal vegetables. Our own delivery network enables delivery to each store from our bases across Japan. We also deal in some perishables, including eggs, tofu and pickles.

  • Precut Vegetables

Our factory-cut, packed vegetables are ready to serve or easy to cook. Precut vegetables do not take up much space and can shorten cooking time at the store, and are especially useful for restaurants that have a small kitchen or require quick food preparation. Our wide variety of product standards meet every customer's request.

  • Vacuum-sealed, Pre-cooked Vegetables

With our pre-cooked vegetables, we place importance on freshness and good taste. They are free from all food additives, including preservatives. Cooked at low temperatures, the vegetables retain their natural flavors and textures. Depending on the individual recipes, we can prepare vegetables at all stages from cutting to seasoning.

Vacuum-sealed, Pre-cooked Vegetables

Vacuum-sealed, Pre-cooked Vegetables

Evolved Version of Precut Vegetables?Delica Foods' Original Vacuum-sealed, Pre-cooked Vegetables

カット野菜

Vacuum cooking is the fourth cooking method after roasting, steaming and simmering. We put the vegetables in food saver bags, vacuum seal them, and cook them at low temperatures set according to the customers’ needs. Depending on their desired recipes, customers can ask for a wide variety of vegetable preparation types, including both unseasoned and in a seasoning liquid. These vacuum-sealed, pre-cooked vegetables are our original products developed by appropriately combining vegetable-cutting techniques and research data that the Delica Foods Group has accumulated.

Delica Foods’ Vacuum-sealed, Pre-cooked Vegetables

  • Natural flavors, textures and colors

Cooking at low temperatures after vacuum sealing effectively retains the vegetables’ natural flavors and textures, locking their nutrients inside. Bright-colored vegetables can be packed separately so that you can use them in order to make dishes more colorful.

  • Healthier diet

Vacuum cooking leads to lower salt intake, since in a vacuum, only a small amount of seasoning liquid is needed to allow the flavor to soak in. Furthermore, vacuum-sealed vegetables are more resistant to oxidation and last longer than precut vegetables. No preservatives are added.

  • Lower labor costs

Our vacuum-sealed vegetables streamline restaurant operations and alleviate labor shortage in the kitchen. We can propose what to offer to individual customers, giving total support to their cooking plans.

  • Greater menu variation

Our pre-cooked vegetables enable customers to serve high-value-added menus that previously they could not serve due to operational or other issues.

  • Greater vegetable intake

Easy access to pre-cooked vegetables increases vegetable intake per dish, enhancing people’s health.
